Is there a location where a local boat owner can view the Constellation while the Campbell Foss is refueling?

The best views of the “Connie” will be from Ocean Boulevard between Belmont Shores and Downtown and Seal Beach Pier.

Noticed the track was taking her between Santa Cruz Island and San Nicholas Island just off Pt. Mugu. Thought I’d take a chance and drive out to NBVC Pt. Mugu (I work there) and try to catch sight of her. It’s a light to moderate marine layer day, even the Channel Islands are barely visible. Got to the point at the estuary and couldn’t see much.

Then, like a ghost in the mist, she appeared. Looks like they had to steer a little towards shore to avoid some traffic and took her abeam to my position for a bit. I doubt I’ll be able to make Long Beach, so my glimpse will have to suffice.

Fare thee well, Corbin Foss with USS Constellation in tow…
