FOR MANY YEARS THE LANE VICTORY, A FULLY OPERATIONAL WW2 VICTORY CARGO SHIP, SAILED FROM SAN PEDRO TO SAN DIEGO FOR MEMORILA DAY LONG WEEKEND. DIRECTLY ACROSS THE CHANNEL, MOORED THERE WAS THE CONSTELLATION AND THE RANGER. SADLY I HAVE NO PICS. IN THE LAST YEARS OF OUR VISIT WE SAW THE NIMITZ AND WHILE IN PORT, THE LANE CREW WAS INVITED TO TOUR THE RONALD REAGAN,

WHEN PRESIDENT, RONALD REAGAN, DEEDED THE LANE VICTORY TO THE MERCHANT MARINE VETERANS OF WWII, THAT WAS IN 1989. SINCE RESTORED, MAKING CRUISES EVERY YEAR SINCE 1992, UNTIL MAJOR BOILER REPAIRS SIDE LINED HER FOR THIS YEAR.

HOPE TO FOLLOW THE CONNIE ON HER LAST VOYAGE. ONLY 3 VICTORYS LEFT, THE REST WENT TO BEAUMONT TX… TRULY SAD, BUT INESCAPABLE
