UPDATES ON COVID-19
We are mindful of the growing concerns surrounding the Coronavirus(COVID-19) in the US and around the globe.Priding ourselves on being “Always Safe Always Ready”, we want to assure you that the well-being of our employees and their families and continuing service to our customers remain our top priorities. We are actively monitoring the situation and will continue to implement precautionary measures in line with the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), American Waterways Operators (AWO), Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) and the US Coast Guard, along with guidance from federal, state and local agencies.
Currently, we remain fully operational in each of our work locations and there have been no service disruptions to date. As always, Foss Maritime is focused on your business and your success, and we are committed to and honored to be part of that supply chain. Foss has eliminated non-essential business travel and has limited visitors from entering company premises. Foss has detailed business continuity plans in place to reduce or eliminate any service disruptions. We have trained all staff in social distancing, proper hygiene protocols, and how to disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces, and we have contracted with sanitation companies to disinfect offices and vessels as warranted. We have sourced additional Personal Protective Equipment and telecommuting is highly encouraged in all of our shoreside operations. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to our employees, customers and communities in which we work and live.
Following are updates from each of our major regions:
Washington:A ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy’ order has been issued to all Washingtonians. As an essential service provider, we are continuing operations in our Pacific Northwest and Ocean divisions, and our corporate office is working remotely until further notice. Our Seattle shipyard remains open with a reduced crew. All visitors and contractors are required to complete a Healthcare Declaration upon entry.
Oregon:A statewide ‘Stay at Home’ order has been issued in Oregon. As an essential service provider, Foss is permitted to continue harbor escort and assist services throughout the Columbia Snake River along with fleet monitoring services in Portland.
California:A statewide ‘Shelter-in-Place’ order was issued mid-March. As we are an essential service provider, our San Francisco, Los Angeles/Long Beach and El Segundo operations are at full scale, with our on shore team supporting both remotely and, on a limited basis, from the port.
Florida: A statewide ‘Safer at Home’ order went into effect last week. We continue essential services in Jacksonville with our LNG bunker barge operations.
We are engaging our business continuation strategies to best support our customers in these volatile times. We will advise of any impact on harbor or marine transportation services as we continue to work diligently to meet our commitments. The COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving, and we will be adopting new safety protocols as the situation warrants. The latest developments will be posted on this page as they become available. For any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to your local representative or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
