Managing Delivery from Extraction Sites
Foss operates, crews and maintains a fleet of tugs, barges, and dredges in the San Francisco Bay for Hanson, one of the world’s major aggregates and heavy building materials companies. Hanson relies on Foss to meet real time demand to extract sand and rock from several extraction sites in the Bay. Foss’ operation enables Hanson to deliver aggregate material for a construction site within a week of extraction. Although this is a seasonal business, Foss annually moves approximately 1.7 million tons of sand/rock.
