Contract Towing

Foss Marine Holdings’ operating companies, including Foss Maritime and Hawaiian Tug & Barge, provide contract towing; using tugs and barges to move cargo on both short and long-term agreements. Our operating companies can transport virtually any cargo by barge in any region, including environmentally sensitive areas and regions with severe weather hazards.

Contract towing projects can range from speculative towing such as moving a military vessel for disposal, to humanitarian aid deliveries around the world, to long-term contracts like the open lighter age of lead and zinc from the Red Dog Mine in Alaska.
