Seattle Shipyard

The Foss Seattle shipyard, one of the most completely equipped yards on the Pacific coast, offers full-service vessel repair and maintenance. Our team of experienced craftspeople provides cost-effective vessel repairs, major conversions and routine maintenance to commercial and recreational vessels. We service tugs, barges, workboats, passenger and car ferries, fishing fleets, high-speed passenger vessels, fish processing vessels, government vessels and yachts.

Rainier Shipyard

On the leading edge of marine technology, engineering and boat building, the Foss Rainier shipyard constructs reliable, efficiently designed, and expertly crafted vessels. We offer new construction and repair of tugs, pilot boats, fireboats, barges and other workboats—and hybrid tug conversions.

The Foss Rainier shipyard built the world’s first Green Assist™ Hybrid Tug. Developed for harbor ship assist work, the hybrid Carolyn Dorothy joined the fleet in the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles in January 2009.

Mobile Response Unit for Emergency Repairs

Foss' ability to provide emergency repairs and preventative maintenance help customers avoid out-of-service time. We can dispatch a mobile response unit repair team from Seattle to anywhere in North America in 24 hours to do shipboard repairs at the dock or while underway. Foss’ highly respected team of naval architects, marine engineers and shipyard staff is also available for marine engineering support in emergency response situations.
