TEMPORARY HELPDESK & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Job Purpose/Summary: Responsible for providing temporary Information Technology support.
Essential Functions:
- Assist Manager Network Specialist with vessel PC builds/repairs.
- Assist Manger Network Specialist with documentation and inventory recordkeeping.
- Provide additional “Help Desk” and on-site support for the entire enterprise.
- Assist in offsite records boxes – retrieve, return, documentation.
- Provide client support on cellular, Blackberry, air-card use and problems – domestic and international.
- Provide basic hands-on client support for minor mechanical or software malfunctions.
- Assist in basic new-user and terminated user setups and shutdowns – SAP project work is highly desired.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent English language skills.
- Ability to take direction, follow instructions and work well with intermittent supervision.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment with frequent changes in priorities/assignments.
- Helpdesk experience is a strong plus.
- Experience with PC/Windows/Software installation.
- Knowledge of Exchange/Outlook email highly desired.
- Knowledge of Cellular phone support.
Minimum Qualifications: This position generally requires work experience with least one year of IT experience.
Working Conditions: Work is mostly performed in an office environment. Some overtime and travel may be required. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.
Physical/Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands or fingers; handle or feel; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to move between buildings, ascend/descend stairs and go outdoors in all kinds of weather. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Requires aptitude to be detail oriented when necessary have strong and mathematical aptitude.
